While Cisco Systems (NASDAQ: CSCO) may be looking to sell off non-core businesses such as Linksys, that doesn’t mean it’s out of the acquisition game – as long as it’s core to its enterprise focus.
Cisco has actually announced 10 acquisitions in 2012, and it added an eleventh this week by announcing its intent to acquire BroadHop. According to a report from CRN, BroadHop is a Denver-based “specialist in policy control and service management technology for carrier networks” that Cisco intends to integrate into its service provider mobility group.
The company was already a service provider partner of Cisco’s. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
