Cisco unveils new security services and ThreatGRID offering

SecurityProject Squared Cisco enterprise collaboration

Cisco Systems today announced the addition of its ThreatGRID offering, now branded as AMP Threat Grid under the Cisco Advanced Malware Protection (AMP) umbrella, as well as the availability of security services to partners.

First, the AMP Threat Grid is a malware analysis solution with both on-premise and cloud capabilities, and comes from Cisco’s acquisition of ThreatGRID last year.

According to Cisco, AMP Threat Grid is also deployable across the “extended network including endpoints, mobile devices, virtual systems, as well as Cisco web and email security appliances.”

Meanwhile, Cisco is bringing out what it calls Incident Response Services, essentially infosec experts to help provide threat intelligence, best practices, readiness and response on premise, on the network and in the cloud.

“The Incident Response Services group works with organizations to identify the source of infection, where it entered the environment, and what data was compromised,” Cisco said in a statement. “By utilizing Cisco security products like AMP, the incident response team is able to find the source – patient zero – and identify malware movement throughout the environment, allowing organizations to minimize the cost and overall impact of any breach, as well as identify methods to reduce future risk.”
