Markham, Ont.-based TeamBoard is helping Tech Data Canada add to its line card of educational products through an exclusive distribution partnership.
Teamboard is a manufacturer of interactive technology solutions for education, corporate, and training environments. Under the terms of the agreement, Tech Data will exclusively distribute the entire range of TeamBoard products in Canada.
Lincoln Vaz, global sales manager for TeamBoard, said between TeamBoard’s tiered direct reseller programs, and the added value inherent in the Tech Data model, Canadian resellers have options available to them to suit their specific needs. With stock in both Vancouver and Toronto, and a suite of reseller programs, Tech Data is ready to meet the market demand.
Tech Data also announced it has appointed Kenneth Griffin to vice president, Advanced Infrastructure Solutions (AIS) Storage Solutions. In this role, Griffin will lead the strategic direction of the Storage Solutions group in Tech Data’s AIS division, as well as a wide range of associated channel program, partner enablement, and engagement activities.
Griffin has experience directing sales teams in solutions selling and the distributor placed him this role to help position AIS provide more value to its vendor partners and the solution providers.Griffin rejoins Tech Data after eight years with Bayshore Technologies, where he held director-level positions in technical services, sales, and marketing. In these roles, he was responsible for strategic planning and presenting technology product and service solutions to various IT and business audiences.

D&H Canada now has an app on the iTunes store.
The D&H App for iPhone and iPod Touch is available in Canada and the U.S. for placing online orders. Solution providers can also view product availability and search for products by scanning a UPC barcode. They can also access features from dandh.ca such as the customer’s Watchlist, plus order tracking and order history functions.
The distributor will also host more than 400 solution providers at its annual Technology Solutions Fair in Mississauga this September 5th.
Avnet closes tender offer for Internix, Inc.
The acquisition of electronic components distributor Internix expands Avnet’s presence in Japan.
Approximately 92 per cent per cent of the outstanding shares of Internix’s common stock on a fully diluted basis were validly tendered and accepted, well above the 67 per cent threshold set out in the offer document as a condition for Avnet to accept the tendered shares. Established in 1970 by founder the late Yoshiharu Fujisawa, Internix is an electronics components distributor representing both Japanese and foreign suppliers serving primarily Japanese original equipment manufacturers. This acquisition is expected to be immediately accretive to earnings and achieve Avnet’s return on capital goal of 12.5 per cent within three years.
Arrow Electronics, Inc. will hold seminars in 10 cities this fall focusing on next-generation embedded systems for engineers including a show in Toronto on Nov. 29th.
Called Arrow Vision Series Embedded 2012, these shows are free one-day seminars that will provide engineers with extensive technical content and cutting-edge exhibits focusing on building embedded systems.
