Gentek, a Toronto-based value added distributor of broadband, network security and VoIP solutions, has signed a Canadian distribution agreement with Yoggie Security Systems.
Yoggie is counting on its Gentek’s partner community to help spread awareness among the SMB and beyond-sized market.
Yoggie has been in existence with headquarters in Tel Aviv, Israel since 2005 and since then, its portfolio of solutions have come to include the Yoggie Pico and Yoggie Gatekeeper Pro solutions. Although its solutions were previously distributed through countries around the world, the company eventually began appointing distributors on a country by country basis to help ease its way into the market space by expanding its global footprint. Gentek was one of the ones to be named distributors to help manage contacts all across Canada.
Jeffrey Freedman, vice-president of sales at Gentek, says his company already has a channel strategy set in place.
“Our strategy is to get this out to market,” Freedman said. “We need our partners to get familiar with the products and we’re counting on them to introduce them to the customer base. We’re looking to target the small to medium sized enterprises and above.”
Yoggie solutions are all-in-one multi-function security devices designed for use in both laptop and desktop computers. The Yoggie Pico is a Linux-based USB key-size device that has 12 built-in security applications to aid in computer security such as, firewall, antivirus and anti-spyware protection, just to name a few.
“From a product perspective, it’s a plug and use [product] right out of the box,” Freedman said. “The only thing you’ve got to do from an IT-level perspective is decide what level of security you want and decide what you want to block.”
Yoggie Gatekeeper Pro is a palm-size security computer that is also Linux-based and has built-in all-in-one security applications such as anti-phishing, anti-virus, intrusion detection/prevention systems and more.
“The product does what a lot of other products combined will do,” Freedman said. “If you have three other solutions you’re managing, here’s one product that does it all. It’s a unique product that’s hardware-based and it does all of the filtering instead of passing it onto the computer itself and slowing it down.”
To help ready partners for deploying these security solutions, Gentek is currently in the process of creating webinars for partners to take advantage of. For now, partners can visit the Gentek Web site to pull off any literature they may need on the products. Freedman says Gentek’s main focus right now is to get partners to focus directly on their clients and to help spread awareness.
“There’s a tremendous opportunity to provide these solutions to customers,” Freedman said. “It’s a compelling product and from an ease of use, use functionality and management perspective, this product can’t be beat. We know security is an issue and there are intrusion and spam problems out there. This product solves all of these [issues].”
Backed by a 30-day money back guarantee and margins of anywhere between 20-25 per cent, Gentek says there are many opportunities for partners to increase revenue and profit margins.
“We will continue to attract partners and to expand our products. We want to [be] a one stop shop for the broadband, network security and VoIP space. We’ll continue to bring new products to the marketplace and we’ll continue to support the channel in a steadfast way.”
