A source inside HP Canada told CDN that the merger between the Personal Systems Group and the Imaging and Printing Group will happen at HP Canada.
The plan is to consolidate PSG and IPG at the end of April. The source added that the subsidiary has to make unification happen in a timely fashion because they want to mitigate any impact it will have to channel partners in this region.
As for the fallout from the merging of two large divisions, the source is unable to comment.
Currently the staff at both PSG and IPG is focused on delivering on second quarter mandates and meeting customer expectations.
This decision has already led to the ousting of 32-year HP veteran Vyomesh Joshi, who ran the IPG division.
The newly combined division will be called Printing and Personal Systems Group and will be run by current PSG worldwide boss Todd Bradley.
“This combination will bring together two businesses where HP has established global leadership,” said CEO Meg Whitman. “By providing the best in customer-focused innovation and operational efficiency, we believe we will create a winning scenario for customers, partners and shareholders.”
