Security software vendor Kaspersky Lab has launched its refreshed line of security solutions for 2014: Kaspersky Anti-Virus 2014 and Kaspersky Internet Security 2014.
The vendor is touting several enhancements and new features that have been added to the offerings this year. For example, both now include Kaspersky’s Zeta Shield antivirus technology, which conducts in-depth scans of files and applications to help ferret out malware hidden within applications. Kaspersky’s Automatic Exploit Prevention technology also scans programs looking for patterns of behavior often found in exploits, and watches more susceptible programs more closely.
There’s also new protection against Trojan ransomware and screen locker technology; users can retake control of their system and remove the malware with a simple key combination.
While previously introduced in Kaspersky Internet Security, Safe Money has been enhanced with new protection for online financial operations, including support for more Web browsers, and an expanded list of trusted online banking sites, payment services and online stores. And a Trusted Applications mode, when enabled, only allows certain white listed applications to run.
“Maintaining the online security of our customers is a mission that is always changing, so it’s essential that our customers are armed with the most advanced protection tools available to keep them ahead of evolving threats to their financial data and personal information,” said Justin Priestley, senior vice-president of consumer sales with Kaspersky Lab North America. “Kaspersky Anti-Virus 2014 and Kaspersky Internet Security 2014 show our continued focus on this goal by delivering innovative new technologies like Trusted Applications Mode and reliable technologies like Safe Money, keeping Kaspersky Lab users ahead of tomorrow’s cyber-threats.”
Kaspersky Internet Security and Kaspersky Anti-Virus are available now, with standard one year, three user licenses costing $79.95 and $59.95, respectively. CDN will have a product review of the new solutions soon.
