Phoenix, AZ. – Rick Hamada, president of Avnet Technology Solutions, has been named the company’s new chief operating officer.
In his new role, effective July 2, Hamada will assume global operational responsibility for the company’s two operating groups, Avnet Technology Solutions and Avnet Electronics Marketing, as well as for all logistics, operational excellence and information technology activities.
Hamada will work directly with and will continue to report to chairman and CEO Roy Vallee.
Former EMC exec joins Adaptec
Milpitas, Calif. — In an effort to strengthen its engineering organization, Adaptec has appointed Manoj Goyal as vice-president of global product development.
Most recently, Goyal served as vice-president, platform engineering at EMC Documentum, where he was responsible for a group of more than 225 employees worldwide and products that drove US$250 million in annual revenue.
Prior to EMC Documentum, he spent 10 years at Sun Microsystems in several engineering leadership roles managing the development of data management and network storage products.
New director of sales, retail at Ingram Micro
mississauga, ont. — Jeffrey Crump has joined Ingram Micro Canada as director of sales, retail. He will lead Ingram Micro’s retail business in Canada, and be responsible for the company’s distribution and fulfillment strategy for the Canadian retail market.
Crump has more than 14 years experience in the retail industry and joins Ingram Micro from Winners where he served in a senior operations role.
