Contax has confirmed the acquisition of Houston-based Onshore Partners, Inc. a technology consultant that specializing in SAP Business Planning and Consolidation (BPC) software and services.
Established in 2012 and with roughly 50 employees, Onshore Partners has been referred to as a boutique channel partner of SAP. The company has expertise in Enterprise Performance Management (EPM) solutions software and has targeted its business at small to mid-size businesses solely in the U.S.
Michael Pearson, President and CEO of Contax, said Onshore Partners built a great reputation for providing expert EPM services. They have serviced a very similar customer base to Contax, in a very niche area. The addition of Onshore’s specialized expertise in EPM will allow Contax to better serve existing customers, and help the company build on its own BPC practice in North America, Europe and Australia.
“We want to be number one in the SAP solutions space, and the addition of Onshore Partner’s experience and expertise brings us closer to that goal,” Pearson said.
The Onshore acquisition becomes official on May 16th.
This is not the first time Contax has acquired a U.S.-based solution provider. In September of 2015, Contax acquired Irvine, Calif.-based SAP partner Aptelis, Inc.
Aptelis is a business technology consultancy with expertise in SAP software and services that has been providing ERP solutions mostly on the west coast of North America.
Contax is based in Toronto but operates around the world with eight service delivery centres that include the U.S., Australia and The Netherlands. The company has a solutions portfolio that includes Cloud and on-premise solutions for ERP, CRM, Human Capital Management (HCM) and Business Intelligence.
Contax does have a BPC practice but Onshore founders have more than 20 years of experience in BPC. BPC is SAP’s Business Planning and Consolidation solution and it is an integrated tool that supports legal consolidation, management reporting, budgeting and forecasting. Version 10 of this software is available for the Microsoft stack as well as NetWeaver.
Both Contax and Onshore Partners is a privately held company and therefore the acquisition price was not disclosed. Besides the company’s headquarters in Houston, Onshore also has offices in Arizona and New York.
Contax is an SAP Gold Partner, while Onshore is an SAP Partner and member of the SAP PartnerEdge program.
SAP is everywhere, where Netsuite and other cloud-based software providers are able to offer solutions 100-500 times cheaper.
