Westcon Group is expanding its data centre business offerings with the full line of Fujitsu server and storage products along with a new practice lead. Fujitsu will now compliment Westcon’s data centre solutions that feature Cisco, Brocade, and Avaya.
Under the terms of the agreement, both the Primergy server and the Eternus storage product lines will be supported by Westcon’s service, integration, training and support programs.
Patty Gray, Vice President of Global Technology Strategies, Westcon said as businesses rapidly adopt virtualization, their infrastructures become increasingly complex. Powerful server and storage offerings are critical elements towards addressing this complexity. Westcon’s data centre practice with Fujitsu allows partners to quickly build new revenue streams based on a broad array of powerful technologies.
Bill King, Executive Vice President of Platform Products, Fujitsu America, called Westcon’s expertise “unmatched. He believes this deal will open new doors for the company’s products across North America.
In charge of the data centre practice will be former IBM executive Dan Papes. Papes will be the new Senior Vice President of Emerging Technologies and Data Center Practice. Papes previously ran cloud services for Big Blue. At Westcon, he will be responsible for building the data centre business practice, creating a sales and support infrastructure to broaden the partner portfolio, and accelerating the Fujitsu relationship.
Westcon also plans to fully integrated Fujitsu solutions into Westcon’s LEAP (Learn, Experience, Architect and Plan) program.
