Mike Ansley, the vice-president of sales for Cisco Canada is leaving the company for personal reasons, according to a highly placed source inside the networking giant.
Ansley’s departure is just weeks after Cisco Canada president Nitin Kawale announced he would be leaving the subsidiary for Rogers, to become president of its Enterprise Business Unit.
Ansley was promoted to his current post in January of this year and had been touted by many channel partners as a potential future president of Cisco Canada. There is no word yet on a replacement for Ansley. The same highly placed source told CDN that newly appointed Cisco Canada president Bernadette Wighman will be responsible for overall sales at the subsidiary.
Wightman, the former GM of Cisco Russia, was promoted to the post of Cisco Canada president replacing Kawale. Wightman’s start date is November 24.
Ansley was the former channel chief of Cisco Canada and was asked to handle multiple roles at Cisco. During his time as channel chief, Ansley was instrumental in implementing channel programs such as the EASE program or Enabling Architecture Sales Excellence and the Master Cloud Builder program. Ansley told CDN at the time that people resources are a huge challenge, especially in going after small to mid-size business.
Ansley’s departure comes at a time when Cisco Canada is putting the finishing touches on its technology plan for the 2015 Toronto PamAm Games, while aggressively pursuing channel partners for its Intercloud offering.
