Yesterday, McAfee made a swift move in naming a replacement for outgoing channel chief Alex Thurber.
Also in rapid fashion, the new channel chief Gavin Struthers used his newly mint blog site to tell solution providers that he is “unashamedly” a salesman.
Struthers went on to outline his partnership philosophy which is based people, profitability and relevance.
You can read his entire blog post by clicking here.
The big highlight of the blog was this statement: “Our 2012 channel strategy is to transform our partner engagements to drive mutual profitability by investing in you, growing with you and optimizing for you. I am committed to making the strategic investments that drive partner innovation, differentiation and profitability. I will also tell you that with more than three-quarters of our annual revenue flowing through the channel, you are our growth engine. And, we will continue to optimize the resources that enable you to become that coveted trusted security advisor for our mutual customers.”
This might mean more dollars coming to channel partners in 2012. McAfee now has a channel foundation, but it still needs to work at aligning themselves and its DeepSafe technology with channel partners going forward. This will be Struthers biggest test in 2012.
Struthers is slated to make his first channel address at an online Town Hall meeting on January 26 at 11 A.M. Eastern.
