Can a printer manufacturer turn itself into a networking vendor? Well, OKI Data is certainly going to try.
The Mount Laurel, N.J.-based company plans to demonstrate its new “NOC-in-a-box” IT business solution at the ITEX 2013 National Conference and Expo being held next week.
OKI Data is targeting office equipment solution providers as part of its Managed Network Services offering. The Network Operating Centre (NOC) in-a-box solution was developed in cooperation with ISS Solutions, a technology lifecycle management solution provider based in Langhorne, Penn. ISS Solutions also has a managed print service arm and is part of the Managed Print Services Association. The strategy behind the NOC in-a-box solution is to provide a bundled IT networking solution to small businesses that includes hardware, software, installation, security and support.
Tim Brien, Director of Managed Print Services for OKI Data Americas, said OKI presents this new opportunity for office equipment dealers to increase sales and business margins, and supplement their existing service and supplies business. OKI understands the unique needs of the office equipment channel and the challenges of incorporating managed services into their product portfolio.
OKI Data has also planned a break-out session entitled When Opportunity NOCs: A Simple, Cost Effective On-Ramp to Successful Managed Network Services during the two day ITEX conference.
