SonicWall is announcing public betas for three new products that will help individuals and businesses, who regularly face complex threats online, protect themselves on-premise and on the cloud.
The new products – SonicWall Capture Client, SonicWall Network Security virtual next-generation firewalls and SonicWall virtual web application firewalls – feature new security controls for specific use cases and let organizations integrate them across a single infrastructure, the software security company says.
“Organizations will be able to seamlessly deploy what they want, when they want and where they want while eliminating both complexity and potential network vulnerabilities,” said Bill Conner, SonicWall CEO, in a press release.
SonicWall Capture Client offers new malware protection and support for SSL/TLS decryption and inspection. It also includes real-time threat mitigation capabilities powered by machine learning.
For hybrid cloud models, the virtual next-generation firewalls operate in a virtual environment and gives organizations the same level of security controls to that of a physical SonicWall firewall. More customers are moving to a hybrid cloud infrastructure and they need to simplify the management of their firewalls without sacrificing performance or security, explained the CTO of Secure Designs.
“The days of the one-size-fits-all network approach are gone,” said Ron Culler.
The web application firewall protects data with Layer 7-aware deep packet inspection on all web traffic, while filtering unwanted web traffic from connecting web apps that can produce denial-of-service and context-aware attacks.
SonicWall also announced the new version of the firewall operating system, SonicOS 6.5.1, which will introduce a new set of APIs that will allow for the scripting and automation of firewall functions. It will also simplify operations with Amazon Web Services.
Customers can expect to see the new products available in the second quarter of 2018.
