Tech Data Canada has promoted Greg Myers to the position of senior vice president of sales and marketing for the Canadian distributor.
Myers joined Tech Data Canada in 1999 to provide some marketing muscle for the organization. Since that time, he has led the company’s purchasing, product management and marketing efforts, and has played a pivotal role in the diversification of its organization and resources in support of its core and value-added areas of focus. Most notably, Myers was instrumental in the development of Tech Data Canada’s Advanced Infrastructure Solutions Products and Sales divisions, and the creation of the Advanced Technology Solutions Centre (ATSC), the country’s only solutions and demonstrations facility.
This is a newly developed position for Tech Data Canada and Myers will be responsible for developing and executing market-leading sales and marketing strategies for Tech Data Canada’s Volume and Advanced Infrastructure Solutions business in Canada.
“I’m tremendously excited about this new direction for Tech Data Canada. Greg is an incredible channel advocate who understands the value delivered by each part of the channel eco-system, and that, combined with his energy and enthusiasm for driving growth and innovation at Tech Data Canada makes him the perfect leader for our newly combined Sales and Marketing teams,” said Rick Reid, President, Tech Data Canada.
“Greg’s knowledge of the channel, his understanding of vendor objectives, and his enthusiasm for aligning our goals to the needs of the Canadian partner community, will serve him well in this exciting new role,” said Lloyd Bryant, Vice President and General Manager, Hewlett-Packard, Canada.
“I’ve gotten to know Greg well over the last few years, and have been impressed with his understanding of the complexity of the reseller landscape in Canada. He has a passion for making Canadian partners as successful as possible, and I’m confident that we will all benefit from that,” said Carmela Orlando, Senior Vice President and General Manager, Insight Canada.
The McMaster graduate has held a number of leadership positions within the Canadian IT channel, most notably at NEC Technologies Canada, where he served as Vice President and General Manager. During his three decade long career, Myers has worked in the vendor arena in both hardware and software, with a CDN Top 100 VAR, and with Tech Data giving him experience in all three areas of the channel.
Congratulations Greg! Well deserved and you are the perfect fit for this role. Rick made a great decision here that will continue to move Tech Data forward in Canada.
