Much of this article by Karen Bodine is on what Steve Jobs would have done with Maps. While I agree with her that Jobs would have cracked the whip and made it at least functional, I do not believe the headline is accurate.
The Apple Maps poor customer experience story will not destroy the brand. That happens over time. Just look at Kodak for an example. Today Kodak exited the inkjet printer business after just five years on the market.What is happening at Apple is that the regular teacher is away and Apple workers have a subsitute. Just like in the NFL, the players and coaches got away with a lot during the three weeks the replacement refs officiated.

I see more of this going forward with Apple. Maps will not destroy Apple, but it might start the downfall in a death by a 1,000 cuts type of thing.
